The Yoga of Emotional & Mental Health (Manas Yoga)

Emotional and mental health are inseparable from each other and are much more common than we think. To escape, we bury them in our subconscious and become overactive in our daily lives. But despite of our best efforts, the problems express themselves as mental illness, addictions, emotional stress and unfulfilled life.  

​

Complete emotional and mental health is the experience of love, well-being, creativity, and freedom from fear, guilt, and trauma. 

In these eight sessions of Yoga of Emotional and Mental Health, we will explore the reasons behind anxiety, depression, emotional trauma, addictions and eating disorders and how we can prevent and manage them. Eventually, we aim to arrive at complete emotional and mental health to live a full and creative life.

Session 1  

  • Neurobiology, psychology and spirituality of emotions, feelings and thoughts

  • Six features of emotional and mental health.

  • Emotional and mental intelligence.

Session 2

  • Causes for the increase in emotional and mental health problems.

  • Childhood trauma and mental health problems.

  • Mental health problems and their connection with Kundalini energy and Chakras.

​

Session 3

  • Understanding the levels of mental health problems.

  • Preventing and overcoming mental and emotional health problems – A Yogic approach

Session 4

  • Dealing with the anxiety, depression, addiction, emotional trauma, eating disorders – through building a robust identity and understanding natural personality.

  • Achieving complete emotional and mental health – Natural Self.

  • Patanjali’s Yoga v/s Hatha Yoga: Six types of Breath Management Modalities and their benefits

PREREQUISITES: This course is open to anyone who wants to learn more about yoga and Ayurveda for mental  health. 

 

Those who already hold a 200HR certified yoga  teacher designation with the Yoga Alliance, will receive course credits and CEU continuing education certification.

JIVASU MD​

Jivasu (Dr. Pradeep Kumar) is a physician, spiritual teacher and the founder of the Natural Spirituality movement.

​

While working as a medical doctor in Sivananda Ashram, Rishikesh, he had a profound transformative experience which led to the formation of his own teachings called Naturality or Natural Spirituality.

​

Jivasu has extensively studied intersections of biomedicine, acupuncture, neuroscience, meditation, and ancient wisdom traditions. He has also studied mind-body medicine at Harvard Medical School.

NICOLE MAHABIR​

​

Nicole is the founding director of JAI Wellness and is a certified International Yoga Therapist, certified Ayurveda Practitioner, Ayu-Yoga Therapist and Energy Medicine Practitioner with over 3000 hours of study and teaching. 

​

She has lead professional certified courses in Ayurveda, Ayu-Yoga and Yoga Therapy for the past 15 years. She is also seasoned teacher of natural medicine, holding designations and extensive practice of Shamanic Healing Masters, Reiki Masters and Ayurvedic Neurotherapy.

PRASAD RANGNEKAR​

Prasad began Hatha Yoga training at Yoga Vidya Niketan, Mumbai at the age of nine while studying Yogic scriptures with his mother during that time. 

 

His intensive training in Pranayama and Breathing techniques were gifted from The Kaivalyadham Yoga Institute, India; The World’s oldest Yoga school. 

 

Through his on-going dedication to the path of Yoga, Prasad was awarded the title of ‘Yoga Shiromani,’ “The Crown Jewel of Yoga,” by the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala, after the completion of his Training.
