500 Hour - Ayu-Yoga Therapist Program

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The 1000 hour Ayu-Yog Practitioner Program is a comprehensive course divided into three parts.
Each section may be studied (and is certified) individually, provided that the correct prerequisites have been completed. Students will gain applied knowledge with mentorship and home application throughout the each course. Assessment and hands-on procedures will be studied and practiced.
Ayurveda the science of life and self healing, is a lived practice. We understand life through experience and we encourage students to apply the oral wisdom. Books are used as a supplementary means to understand the traditional knowledge that was orally transmitted.

Level One

Is a 200 Hour Ayurveda & Yoga Instructor program Successful graduates will be certified as Ayu-Yog Instructors. Graduates will have a strong foundation of study and will be able to teach yoga asana with integrated Ayurvedic principles. No prerequisite is required. This course is certified by the Canadian Yoga Alliance.

Level Two

Is an intermediate Ayu Yog Therapy Program for existing certified practitioners or yoga teachers to deepen their knowledge about Ayurveda and Yoga as a means to establish a personal and/or professional practice.
Students will learn how to assess the Dosha Prakruti and offer lifestyle counselling, and diet suggestions for each client. Students will gain knowledge of individualized practices and therapy for various dis-eases and dosha imbalances (vrikruti). Practices will include initial intake and assessment of clients, counselling, individualized asana practice, kriyas, mudras, mantra, pranayama and meditation.
Successful Graduates will gain an advanced, certified 300-Hour Ayurveda & Yoga Therapist Designation. Level one or an *equivalent teacher training certificate is a prerequisite.

*Those without ample study of Ayurveda will be required to enroll in the Foundations of Ayurveda to qualify for registration.
